Dr. Amanda Graves,
SLPD, CCC-SLP, CLC
I am a Speech-Language Pathologist that works in Lubbock, Texas. I completed an advanced degree program and received a clinical Doctorate of Speech Language Pathology with a focus on Pediatric Feeding Disorder in Infants and I have 17+ years of experience in pediatrics with the last 13+ years specifically in pediatric feeding. I am certified as a lactation counselor and a neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) provider. I have completed training programs for kinesio-taping for dysphagia, SOS approach, Supporting Oral Feeding in Fragile Infants (SOFFI), myofascial release, and orofacial and myofunctional therapy. Providing quality education for pediatric feeding, specifically to therapists with limited access to mentoring support, became my passion after moving from a large urban area to rural Texas. Seeing the difference in the care that my own premature daughter received and the lack of learning opportunities, led me to begin helping my community by providing education and mentorship to therapists that lacked this support. I also have a passion for providing support for breastfeeding caregivers that are faced with difficult situations (premature or medically complex infants, returning to work, and post-frenectomy support) based on my personal experience as well! When I am not at work I also serve as a volunteer for Feeding Matters (www.FeedingMatters.org) as a part of the Physician Outreach Project and have the privilege to guest lecture at Texas Tech University Health Science Center.
